Centrally located, facing the Syntagma Square and the Parliament, this neoclassical hotel is one of the oldest places in town. Built in 1874, it was the house of the royal family, before it was transformed into a hotel. It is managed by the Starwood Chain and listed as a Luxury Collection.

The hotel has 321 rooms, Classical and De lux, and six types of suites, done up in classical style, with marble bathrooms and wood furniture, and equipped with all the modern facilities.

There are two restaurants, the GB Corner, with entrance from the Parliament, and the GB Roof Garden on the top floor of the hotel, with a view of the Acropolis, both serving Mediterranean cuisine. There is also the GB Winter Garden, in the centre of the lobby, offering breakfast and light lunch.

Right in front the GB Winter Garden is the Alexander Bar, offering live music, and the pool bar during summer.

The hotel's spa is one of the best in Athens. It has many facilities, including an indoor pool. There is a gym room too.

The hotel is a great venue for seminars and meetings.
