A journey to Peloponese, in Nemea, which was an important producer of wine in Ancient times, supplying Athens, and many cities. There are dozens of wine producers in this region today, some wine producers are exporting abroad and have won medals. Passing through the canal of Corinth, created and open in 1893, you will visit also the city of Ancient Corinth. A predominant city with colonies, with great commerce, and military force. The city has been inhabited from Neolithic period, until the end of Roman Empire. St Paul leaved there for many years, preached the new religion, and wrote the new epistles.

Itinerary

Leaving early in the morning from Athens, we will need 60 to 90 minutes to arrive in Ancient Corynth in the Peloponesse. We will have in the way a brief stop in the canal of Corinth. Upon arrival in Ancient Corynth, visit of the archeological site with its temple and markets, the Greek and Roman influence. After some lessons of history and culture, we will pass by the wineries of the region of Nemea and stop to a local wine producer. Tasting Greek wines, with explanations on their preparation and the type of grape they have. Return in the afternoon in Athens.
